Consultation on the expansion of the DSPs (Designated Specialist Provision) at Thurnby and Kestrel Mead Primary Academies
These schools are proposing the following expansion of their DSPs:
- Thurnby Mead Primary Academy is proposing the expansion of its DSP from 15 to 20 children in Key Stages 1 and 2 with speech, language and communication needs. It is the intention that these 5 additional places will be for children with hearing impairments.
- Kestrel Mead Primary Academy is proposing the expansion of its DSP from 8 to 10 children in Key Stage 1 with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) needs.
These DSPs are funded by the Local Authority and admissions are open to pupils from across Leicester with Education, Health and Care Plans in the appropriate need.
The consultation period runs from Monday 9 January to Monday 6 February 2023 and allows anyone with an interest (for example parents, other schools and the local community) to comment. You can comment by emailing [email protected]
